Solar Power is Coming to Venetia Valley School

At its April 15, 2024 meeting, our Board of Trustees approved a project to install solar panel arrays at Venetia Valley TK-8 School. This initiative is an important step towards our district's goal of becoming more sustainable. The new solar arrays, with a combined capacity of 158 kilowatts, are expected to save the district an estimated $804,000 over their lifetime. These savings will be used to fund other important programs and projects for our students. Construction began in August 2025 and is expected to be completed in February 2026.

Site Facilities Committee

Critical to the success of the site work is collaboration with the school communities. Venetia Valley has a Site Facilities Committee that is currently meeting to lead in the project design, details and planning for implementation for the school's bond program work.

The Site Facilities Committee is made up of teachers, staff, parents and community members. They are joined by the project team, including architects, engineers, project and/or construction managers and school and District staff, in guiding the design and planning work at the school.
